Cherrypicker is a comedy horror tragedy, a film that maintains a tone of delightful absurdity and delivers laugher punctuated by moments of wild terrifying glee. Rooted in the tradition of Greek tragedy, where a hero’s downfall extends from the traits people love about them, we have Sean Chase, a former pro hockey enforcer, who has fallen in love with Laura Haywood, a widowed mother of four little girls. Sean wants to leave his reckless life behind him, and start a family anew with Laura. As always, Sean charges in, prepared to give it his all, and that is when we meet the girls. Despite their Mother’s assurances, these four adorable creatures are unsettled by Sean’s presence, and when they see something they should not, they can only assume that their Mom is in trouble, and that it’s up to them to protect her. From there, the world of adults and children collides with the most thrilling unexpected momentum.

EN. Boy Meets Girl (Hebrew: בן לוקח בת) is a 1982 Israeli drama directed by Michal Bat-Adam. It was filmed on location at Kibbutz Ma'ayan Tzvi.
The story is a semi-autobiographical account of Bat-Adams' own upbringing at a kibbutz boarding school. Her 1994 film, Aya: Imagined Autobiography (Hebrew: איה), revisits the character of Aya, who is now a married woman haunted by her past.
Aya (Einat Helfman) is a shy 10-year-old girl who has grown up in Tel Aviv. When her parents, who are both doctors, travel to Thailand as part of their work, Aya is placed in a boarding school on a kibbutz. As an outsider, she has difficulty adjusting to the insularity and unfamiliar values and practices of kibbutz society. She struggles to cope with the challenges of living with dozens of her peers in a communal children's dormitory where there is no separation according to gender.

EN. Living quietly in the mountains, a young girl humiliated by her classmates is eager to go find her father in the city. Her plan is wrecked when the travel money fetched by her good friend is accidentally lost. Unable to repay the loan, and without hope of seeing their parents, the girls take refuge in the pond, where they feel safe and warm, as if returned to their mother's womb. Shot with naturalistic cinematography, Qi Rui's directorial debut is imbued with a lyrical tone and sympathetic tenderness reminiscent of Kiarostami's cinema.
