Čekání na déšť. 1978.
Veľkomestské sídlisko, zaliate augustovým slnkom, je prázdne a nepríjemné. Dvanásťročnej Alenke je smutno. Priateľky sú ešte na prázdninách, mama chodí do práce a Alenka je celý deň sama. Snaží sa skrátiť si dlhú chvíľu a vymýšľa si úlohu očarujúcej partnerky herca, ktorý býva v susedstve. Zoznámi sa i s mladým vojakom zo susedného balkóna. Jediné pekné chvíle prežíva v spoločnosti slepého invalida pána Taraba, ktorý odchádza do nemocnice a zveruje jej do opatery svojho vlčiaka. Alenkina matka má priateľa, ktorý je dievčatku veľmi nesympatický. Nie je nikto, komu by sa mohla zveriť a kto by ju potešil, a tak víta návrh pána Tarabu, ktorý chce svoj návrat z nemocnice osláviť. Pri nákupe sa Alenka stretáva s vojakom Pavlom a na druhý deň ho vyprevádza na stanicu, kde sa jej zrúti nádej prvého cituvého prebudeniea, keď sa objaví Pavlovo dievča. Alenka tak opäť zostáva sama. Pred domom nájde vlčiaka a dozvie sa, že pána Tarabu zrazilo auto a že je zase v nemocnici. Je to zlá správa, ale spolu s ňou prichdáza niečo, na čo všetci podvedome čakali - dážď. Prší a napätie sa pomaly uvoľňuje... Film Karla Kachyni měl společný rozpočet s filmem "Setkání v červenci".

CZ. Režisér Rudolf Růžička natočil ve zlínském studiu dětský kriminální film Parta za milión. Zatímco v obdobných snímcích s kriminální zápletkou zpravidla děti pomáhají dopadnout pachatele, v tomto díle je to poněkud jinak. Klukovská parta z frajeřiny (kvůli sázce) přepadne poštu. Vzápětí se zjistí, že v pytli, který tam ukradla, nejsou dopisy, nýbrž téměř milión korun. Trvá to dlouho, než se chlapci rozhodnou lup vrátit. A mezitím se odehraje řada věcí. - Ve filmu je značný prostor věnován přípravě a provedení loupeže, a potom vývoji vztahů mezi dětmi, které se dostanou k velkým penězům. Tvůrci se snažili, jistě s dobrými úmysly, vnést do tradičního dětského příběhu něco nového. Zaujmout malé diváky dobrodružnou akcí a přitom přinést i poučení o neblahé roli chamtivosti a touhy po bohatství. Pokusili se charakterizovat své hrdiny bez obvyklé přetvářky, ukázat dnešní kluky takové, jací opravdu jsou. - Morální vyznění jejich filmu je však přece jen pochybné. Vědomí viny jednoho protagonisty nemůže vyvážit skutečnost, že se chlapci dopustili závažného činu, který zůstal nepotrestán.

Takmer ružový príbeh / A Rosy Story. 1990.
Rodinný, muzikálový příběh, ve kterém se realita střídá s pohádkou. Malá Darinka (Darina Rolincová), které umřela maminka, strávila dětství u babičky v Praze. Každý večer spinká se svou nejoblíbenější pohádkou o Šípkové Růžence. Darinin neúspěšný a směšný strýček Leonard (Jiří Korn) v ní objeví veliký hudební talent. Zničí dědiční nemoc děvčátka společné sny o hvězdném úspěchu a radosti? Smutek a trápení se střídá s pohádkovým štěstím. Den sommeren jeg fylte 15 (The summer I turned 15) is the story Peter is telling the about a special summer, when he is invited over to summer holiday from bickering parents, to his aunt and uncle in th country. He's been there before, but this summer was quite one to remember.
The film is based upon the Youth novel by Knut Faldbakken, and is about a boy sensing his first real sexual feelings. Directed by Knut Andersen, it become a good and well told coming of age story. Peter has become in the age where he starts noticing sexual tension and what's going on around. Like noticing that his aunt and uncle also quarrels, when they think he is not noticing. H also discovers that his uncle is having an affair.
Together with a comrade the same age, he uses time looking at old erotic magazines. But the real important thing is when he meets up with a girl his same age and a 6-7 year older single mother which is not afraid to bathe naked, both giving him his first real sexual feelings and sexual experiences. His first real kiss before I goes on...
There"s also some subtle dramatic sequences here, but the film can be view by anyone above grown enough to understand the sexual tension, but teenagers will appreciate it most. Well played by all actors, and a charming story, but it feels quite dated today.

"Blood Sisters", Danish filmmaker Louise Friedberg's sophomore short film, is the kind of flick that you simply can't take your eyes off of. It's a relatively simple story that has been played out time and time again: a young girl feels threatened by her best friend's new friend/neighbour, jealousy brews, and tempers flare.
A slow but steady pace brings to mind late 20th century minimalist music, creeping along with perseverance and contemplative awe. The aura is distinctly Scandinavian: simultaneously chilly and warm, dominated by icy whites, whimsical laces and the splash of blood red.
