Soon-Young (Kim Sae-Ron) is a young girl who is the head of her family. She lives with her mentally handicapped father (Jo Yong-Suk), unscrupulous uncle (Lee Chun-Hee) and younger sister Soon-Ja (Kim Ah-Ron) who is always ill. Younger sister Soon-Ja plays with her Barbie doll everyday and dreams of one day living in the United States. Meanwhile, Mang-Taek comes into contact with an American man interested in adopting a healthy Korean girl. Mang-Taek arranges a deal for the American man to adopt Soon-Young. When her younger sister Soon-Ja hears of the adoption, she becomes jealous and asks to take the place of her older sister. When the American man and his young daughter arrive to take Soon-Young, the uncle, Soong-Young and Soon-Ja must decide who is to go. The American father has an ulterior motive for the adoption.
Filming took place from May 21 to June 6, 2011 in Pohang, South Korea.
Movie will screen at the 2011 Busan International Film Festival and has been submitted to the 2011 Venice Film Festival.

EN. Franziska (Manja Lucke) is a bright girl who is eagerly awaiting her school enrollment. A few weeks before the big event is to take place, she and her parents learn that Franziska can not attend school for health reasons (severe hearing impairment) for the time being. The plot of the film also describes how Franziska can cope with her young life under these circumstances and how her parents and friends help her to accept her illness in this difficult situation.
And Franziska also has a "fellow sufferer": that is Emperor Franz, a young stork who crashed while trying to fly. Together with Grandpa Gruhn (Günter Naumann), she takes care of the animal because it can not fly to Africa with the others.

Yaaba is a 1989 Burkinabé drama film written, produced, and directed by Idrissa Ouedraogo. It won the Sakura Gold prize at the 1989 Tokyo Film Festival. The film was selected as the Burkinabé entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 62nd Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
The film was the subject of a short documentary Parlons Grand-mère, which was shot during the film's production by Djibril Diop Mambéty.
In a small African village, Bila (Noufou Ouédraogo), a ten-year-old boy, makes friends with an old woman called Sana (Fatimata Sanga), who has been accused of witchcraft by her village, and has become a social outcast. Only Bila is respectful of her, and calls her "Yaaba" (Grandmother).
When Bila's cousin, Nopoko (Roukietou Barry), falls ill, a medicine man insists that Sana has stolen the girl's soul. Sana undergoes a long and gruelling but ultimately successful journey to find a medicine to save Nopoko's life, but is still treated as a witch.
After Sana dies, the real reason why she is hated in the village is uncovered, but the love and wisdom she invested in Bila and Nopoko lives on.

Memoirs of a Survivor is a 1981 British science fiction film directed by David Gladwell, with some scenes filmed at the location of Argyle Street, Norwich. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival. It is based on the 1974 novel of the same name by Doris Lessing.
'D' is a chronicler of a society in chaos, who looks down on the marauding gangs, and rubbish-strewn streets from the fortress prison of her flat. Buffeted by inner dreams and longings, D finds an alternative world by stepping through the wall of her flat, like Alice through the Looking Glass. Here it is Victorian England, the bosom of an unsettled family, harbingers, perhaps, of the decay to come. All Things Fair (Swedish: Lust och fägring stor, literally "Great Lust and Beauty") is a Swedish drama film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 3 November 1995. Written and directed by Bo Widerberg, the film is about a sexual relationship between a teacher and her 15-year-old student in southern Sweden during World War II. Bo Widerberg's son Johan Widerberg stars as the boy Stig and Marika Lagercrantz plays his teacher Viola. The original title is taken from the Swedish hymn "Den blomstertid nu kommer", which is traditionally sung in schools before closing for the summer holiday.
It was the last film to be made by Widerberg. It won several domestic and international awards and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Malmö, Sweden during the Second World War. Stig is a 15 year old pupil on the verge of adulthood. Viola is 37 years old and his teacher. He is attracted by her beauty and maturity. She is drawn to him by his youth and innocence. At the same time, Stig becomes friends with Viola's husband Kjell, who teaches him classical music, and the affair continues even after he understands that he has a relationship with his wife. but does nothing to prevent it. Menuet is a 1982 Belgian-Dutch drama film directed by Lili Rademakers. The film was selected as the Belgian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 55th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
A young husband and wife live at close quarters in a small industrial town, where he works in the basement of a brewery, but she has designs on moving up in the world. The husband is fixated on keeping clippings of news stories about bizarre crimes and accidents - stories that are visually portrayed alongside the ordinary family dynamics. Aside from the young couple, a 14-year-old girl is there to help out with the household chores, and her detached spying on all covert activities (she observes the wife being raped by the brother-in-law) has a chilling undertone. Meanwhile, the morbid side of the husband draws him to the 14-year-old, and desires that had been dormant begin to surface. The couple, their relatives, and the domestic certainly seem trapped in a labyrinth that has no end.
Movie was based on the book "Menuet en andere verhalen" written by the Flemish novellist Louis Paul Boon, on which book the movie Daens (1992) was also based.

CZ. Je léto a čtrnáctiletá Blaženka Borová (M. Šafránková) tráví s několika kamarádkami bezstarostné prázdniny na táboře, když je její pobyt nečekaně ukončen. Tatínek (P. Kostka), který si pro ni přijel, nese radostnou novinu – narodil se jí bráška Petřík. Jenže vzápětí se Bláža dovídá, že maminka bohužel zaplatila cenu nejvyšší. Život jde i přes nesmírný zármutek dál: Petřík zatím zůstává v kojeneckém ústavu, táta pokračuje ve své profesi taxikáře a náhle dospělá Blaženka přebírá maminčinu roli v domácnosti. Učí se vařit, prát, nakupovat. Najednou jí připadá spousta věcí neznámá, nepřátelská, a tak si vytvoří svůj imaginární svět osamělého Robinsona Crusoa, který jí pomáhá tyto překážky zdolat. A vedle chápavého taťky je tady i hodná a milá sousedka Tonička (J. Obermaierová), která jí podá pomocnou ruku a pomáhá jí v domácnosti. I spolužák Jarda (V. Dlouhý) si všimne, jak to Blažence sluší, a velmi rád ji učí jezdit na kole, které se teď stává dívčiným toužebným, ale nedostupným přáním. Měsíce ubíhají a je tu předvánoční čas, první bez maminky. Blaženka navíc velmi onemocní. Nakonec se ale vše v dobré obrátí…
EN. Like the literary character Robinson Crusoe from the book written by Daniel Defoe, Blazenka likes to imagine she is on a desolate island and has to find a way how to survive. After the death of her mother she stays together with her baby brother and has to take care of the family. In this difficult situation, she plays this role-game that helps her to deal with the sudden loss of her mother.
Kachyna again uses poetic images with symbols to present the inner world of the teenage girl (such as scene when he shows the girl lying in the bed with the horizon of an open sea to signify not only her loneliness and desolation, but also the presence of death or more exactly the world of dead symbolized by the sea).
